The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of isolated heavy rain in Kerala from 4 to 6 October 2026. The forecast also flags thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 40–50 km/h at isolated places during the same period.
District-wise yellow alert
- 4 October: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam
- 5 October: Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram
- 6 October: Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad
The forecast classifies heavy rain as 64.5–115.5 mm in 24 hours. The IMD’s current warning lists heavy rainfall of 7–11 cm at isolated places in Kerala on 4, 5 and 6 October.
Residents in the listed districts should follow updated IMD and state disaster-management advisories, especially during thunderstorms and strong winds.
