The Nilgiris District Administration announced on 28 October 2026 that it is inviting applications under a 2026–27 agriculture-budget input-subsidy scheme for fish farming in farm ponds. Five units are targeted in the district.
Applicants with farm ponds measuring 250 to 1,000 square metres should submit the application in person to the Assistant Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare near the Central Bus Stand, Udhagamandalam, by 5 PM on Friday, 6 November 2026. The announcement does not specify the subsidy amount.
